Queen Mary Report
Mon, May 13 2013

Rich with a nice Pool winning Striper! Slow again today with signs of improvement. We did capture a few Stripers along with a handful of blues for a small crowd. If the wind was not so strong we probably could have gotten some live bunker and put some fish in the boat. We do have spots on our first Magic Hour tomorrow afternoon 3:30-9:30 call if you are interested. The afternoons have produced some fish most days...

125' Jamaica Striped Bass Report 5-7-13 (Pt Pleasant, NJ)
Tue, May 7 2013

We caught some nice bass today. In the morning they were caught on croc lures and jigs and later on clams. Several anglers caught their limit. We read plenty of fish again today but, they did not bite like we saw them. We wound up with two dozen keepers.

The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail at 7:30AM everyday.

If you are looking for Croc lures we still have all colors in stock, including Gold. They are available on board or go to www.boganmarine.com

For further information go to our website or call 732-528-5014

Real-time Striper report - 5/1/13
Wed, May 1 2013

Capt. Dale said they have been jigging fish off the beaches to the north of our inlet (nice to see the fish closer to home now!)

They had an initial blast of fish early that made the day right off the bat with 40+ Stripers coming up early and they have continued to pick at fish since then with 3 to 4 fish coming up on each move.

A number of people have their limit and the fish have ranged from shorts up to 20 lbs. 5oz & 10oz Gold crocs and 4oz yellow runoff or Ava-47's with a yellow tube have been the lure of choice today.

125' Jamaica Update
Mon, Apr 29 2013

Very good striper fishing again today. Lots of limits and releases. The pool winner was Marcos Victories with an 18lb striped bass. The hot color today was gold, but it was the golden color of clams. We anchored and started catching the bass right away. The big Jamaica will sail for stripers every day at 7:30AM.

Striper Primer: Part 2
“THE BUSINESS END”

The “business end” of your striper outfit is where the “rubber hits the road.” It is where your lure, live bait, eel, chunk crab, or clam, or whatever is attached. At its far end it has a hook or lure but, in many cases, there is a leader leading up to this. It is referred to as a “shocker”. It is, most often, attached to the main line by a swivel. This doesn’t sound like a big deal but getting this right is as important as any other factor adding up to successful striped bass fishing from a boat and especially from a party boat. Every time I go out I see people who are either unaware of this or they are ignoring it. You can tell because they are the ones l...

Party Boat Striper Primer: Part 1

You’ve got the bug and you’re raring to go. You have the  cooler and the ice. Great! Don’t forget the sea sick medication if you don’t have your sea legs yet and it is a good idea to check with your physician about taking it. Take it about an hour before you sail but watch it while driving as
some people get a bit drowsy from it. Getting sea sick is a bummer so don’t forget to take this precaution to prevent it from happening. Getting sun burned is also not good so make sure that you have plenty of sunscreen lotion, the greater the screening factor, the better. This precauti...
